Sophie Locquet

Sophie is a multidisciplinary artist. She has always been eager to explore different forms of expression with her body and her entire being, she refuses to be locked in a single discipline. Trained in classical dance at the Tours Conservatoire (Dance Academy) in 1993, then she studied singing and tap dancing in Paris. She started to work as a classical dancer with the “Ballet Classique” and “Le Renouveau Lyrique” of Paris.
Thanks to her artistic skills in Music-Hall and as a tap dancer, she travelled all over the world and expanded her vision on different esthetics. When she moved to Nantes, she met Fred who has taught her aerial dance since 2011. It brought her to some new horizons and challenges that she explores toward Aerial Silk.
She participates with the company Drapés Aériens in many events, including for the airport of Rennes, Dior, Ford, Porsche, Mercedes, Airbus and on many ferries staying at Saint-Nazaire.
In 2016 she becomes one of the interpret of « Lisières » choreographed by Fred Deb’, which was performed in Besné and at the National Theater of Saint Nazaire.
In 2020, she creates with Gabor Turi the short performance « Jacques… Musique ! » a creation between aerial poetry, percussion and dance that they perform as a duo thanks to « Ouvrir l’horizon » which is a specific artistic program created during the covdi19 pandemic.
For several years, Sophie has been teaching aerial fabrics at the MJC of La Baule and during the festival « Les Rencontres de Danse Aériennes » at Saint-Nazaire.
She is also a teacher at La Volière since the opening in October 2020.
