Sophie Locquet
Sophie is a multidisciplinary artist. She has always been eager to explore with her body and her whole being different forms of expression and refuses to be locked into a single model.
Trained in classical dance at the conservatory of Tours until 1993, she then studied singing and American tap dance with Victor Cuno in Paris.
She stays in the capital and leads a career as a classical dancer with the classical ballet of Paris and the Renouveau Lyrique.
Her talents as a music hall artist and tap dancer also gave her the opportunity to travel around the world on cruise ships, in theaters, casinos and cabarets and to broaden her view of different aesthetics.
When she moved to Nantes, she met Fred Deb’ with whom she has been training since 2011 in aerial dance on fabric. It is then a new horizon which opens to her; like a new challenge which she launches out, she explores her verticality.
She participates with the company Drapés Aériens in many events, including for the airport of Rennes, Dior, Ford, Porsche, Mercedes, Airbus and the shipyards of Saint-Nazaire …
In 2016-2017, she became an interpreter of the show “Lisières” choreographed by Fred Deb’, which was performed in Besné and at the Theater of Saint Nazaire.
She creates in 2020 with Gabor Turi the small form “Jacques…Music! “, a mixture of aerial poetry
percussion and dance that they perform as a duo thanks to “Ouvrir l’horizon” which offers artistic baskets to alleviate the crisis.
For several years, Sophie has been teaching aerial fabrics at the MJC of La Baule and during the festival “Les Rencontres de Danse Aériennes” in Saint Nazaire.
She is also a teacher at La Volière since the opening of the place.
